I know we haven’t even celebrated Thanksgiving yet, but holiday light displays and other themed activities are starting to make an appearance. During the year 2020, I say the more the merrier when it comes to fun and lighthearted activities! And even if you’re not ready to start partaking, it’s a good time to start planning out your weekend adventures. Many events are offering ticketed entrances and you’ll what to get your choice spot.
Friday, November 20th
- The last Madison Farmer’s Market of the season is taking place on the Town Green from 3-5pm. Traditional retail is now allowed and select vendors continue to offer pre-order. Head to the market webpage to see this week’s list of vendors.
- Take a trip to Wallingford and take in the Magic of Lights display at the Oakdale Theater! This event runs everyday from 11/13/2020 – 1/2/2021 except closed on New Years Eve. Times are Friday and Saturday from Dusk till 11:00pm and Sunday through Thursday from Dusk till 10:00pm. Tickets can be purchased at the gate for $30 per vehicle Monday – Sunday or in advance for $20.
Saturday, November 21st
- The Dudley Farm Market in Guilford is open every Saturday from 10am-1pm. Follow along on Facebook for update on vendors.
- The Audubon Shop in Madison is hosting a Fall Bird Walk at Hammonasset Beach State Park from 8-10:30am. Pre-registration is required and a fee of $6 payable in advance. Call 203-245-9056 to reserve your spot and be sure to visit the event page for more details on arrival procedures.
- The Madison Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Paper Shredding Event from 9am – 12pm at the Chamber office. This will be a drive through event where you will remain in your car, pop the trunk, and volunteers will remove your box or boxes of papers to feed to the shredding truck employees. To help streamline the event and save time, it is recommend that you Pre-register. Pricing is as follows: $10 per standard box (9 x 11.5 x 18) $15 per larger-than-standard box

- Costal Creations of Clinton is hosting a Gnome Tree Topper Virtual Workshop from 7-9pm. Participants will need a glue gun and an old sweater. Purchase your tickets here.
- Live music by Rock and Soul Review at Bill’s Seafood in Westbrook from 7:30-10:30pm.
