This week is really shaping up to be a tasty one. Farmer’s markets, food truck festival, and alfresco dining options galore! The weather is looking perfect for a full weekend of outdoor activities, so throw the folding chairs and picnic blankets in the trunk, prepare the coolers and ice packs, and take your pick of delicious weekend activites!


Thursday, June 11th

  • Durham Farmer’s Market takes place on the Town Green from 3:00-6:30pm. Check out their Facebook page for an up-to-date listing of vendors.
  • Head to Essex for Alfresco Thursdays happening from 5-8pm! Alfresco shopping, patio dining, live music, art, strolling, socializing, and more.
  • Paul Shlien is playing live on the patio at Shanks in Clinton from 6-8pm. Don’t forget to BYOB!
  • Live Virtual Taco Lasagna Cooking Class hosted by Mary’s Culinary Classes from 5-6pm. Join in on this free class, have your ingredients ready and cook along! See the event page for ingredients list.

Friday, June 12th

  • The Madison Farmer’s Market is on the Town Green from 3-6pm. Traditional retail is now allowed and select vendors continue to offer pre-order. Head to the market webpage to see this week’s list of vendors.
  • The Center Line duo is playing live at Scotch Plains Tavern in Essex from 7-10pm. Enjoy your night on the expansive patio and don’t forget to bring your mask!

Saturday, June 13th

  • Food Truck Drive Thru at the Guilford Fairgrounds from 11am-6pm. Place your order on the provided disposable menu and have your selections delivered directly to your vehicle! Check out the Facebook page for full details.
  • 80’s Flashback Virtual Adult Trivia Night hosted by the Madison Arts Barn beginning at 9pm. Register in advance to play and earn extra points when you break out your best 80’s gear!
  • Enchanted Mini Safari at Ray of Light Farm in East Haddam from 11am-2pm. Come with the family to enjoy this drive-thru event and see all the wonderful, whimsical sculptures, hand painted totem poles, Unicorns and some of the farm animals! Tickets must be purchased in advance.
  • Barre at the Beach hosted by New England Dance from 8-9am at Harvey’s Beach in Old Saybrook. Bring a mat, towel, and weights to this barre workout and “embrace the shake!”
  • Old Dog New Trick is playing live at The Brushmill in Chester from 4:30-7:30pm. Pull up the car in their giant parking lot, put out your lawn chairs, and enjoy some live music out in the great wide open! As always, Brushmill will be serving their delicious food and drinks for all to enjoy.
  • Paper Shredding Event hosted by the Clinton Chamber of Commerce and Sweitzer Waste Removal from 9am-1pm. Cost is $7 per box (banker’s box or copy paper box) payable by cash or credit. Entrance to this event is located a the Town Hall, 54 East Main Street.

Sunday, June 14th

  • The Chester Sunday Market is back! This year’s market is drive thru style and running from 10am-2pm at their new location (Chester Elementary School – 23 Ridge Road – Chester, CT). You can also place advanced orders and pick up at our new Pick Up location (14 Main Street Chester, CT).
