Shoreline Social Report: February 4 – February 7

Thursday, February 4th

  • MixTape Match at the 1741 Pub & Grill in Middlefield from 6-8pm. 3 Rounds of Trivia – 3 cards per round with prizes for each round!​ ​​​​Call 860-349-6033 for more info – Tables fill up quickly!

Friday, February 5th

  • Eye Spy in Madison hosted by the E.C. Scranton Memorial Library. Come by the Library on the 1st Friday in February to pick up your monthly Eye Spy scavenger hunt. Bundle up, this will be a chilly one! Scavenger hunts are available all month! Stop by any time during our open hours to pick one up.
  • Virtual Live Double Crunch Honey Garlic Chicken Cooking Class hosted by Mary’s Culinary Classes from 5-6pm. Once you register at you will be emailed an ingredients list and a zoom link! Only $10 per household.

Saturday, February 6th

  • Virtual Winter Festival hosted by Connecticut State Parks from 9am – 3pm. Join in on the fun by visiting the DEEP Facebook page for a series of live-streamed videos. The schedule for the days programs can be found at the following:
  • Winter Market at the Durham Activity Center from 10am – 1pm. Be sure to visit the event page for an up-to-date list of vendors!
  • The Shoreline Greenway Trail is inviting you to join for a Saturday Walk in Madison beginning at 10am. You will walk the SGT at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, with Trailmeister Perry Rianhard. Make your way through one of the few coastal upland forests remaining on Long Island Sound, with great views of the Sound and its salt marshes. Easy walking on gently rolling, stone-paved surface. 2.5 miles round trip.
  • The Heartfelt Market in Deep River is open from 10am – 4pm. The event is an opportunity for the community to safely be together at Deep River businesses and support the Deep River Ambulance and Deep River Fire Departments. Start your day at The Nest Coffee House or Anchor and Compass where you will be given a heart wreath and a list of participating businesses.
  • Pop Up Shopping Event at The Stand in Branford from 12-3pm with brunch being served from 11am – 3pm.

Sunday, February 7th

  • Sunday JAZZ Brunch at the 1741 Pub and Grill at Lyman Orchards in Middlefield from 10am – 2pm. Featuring jazz pianist Jay Rowe.
  • Super Bowl Sunday!!! Get your football grub ready for the 6:30pm kick-off! The Weeknd is this year’s halftime performer and is slated to take the stage at 8:30pm.
