- Holiday Lights Spectacular at Olde Mistick Village from 10am – 9:30pm. Over a half-million lights will decorate the Olde Mystic Village square of shops and restaurants for families and holiday enthusiasts to enjoy. Happening daily through the end of January.
- Festive Lights and Alpacas at Lavender Pond Farm in Killingworth from 4-8pm. Enjoy festive lights as you visit our friendly alpacas! The farm will be open for extended hours on Friday, December 17th as well as Saturday, December 18th, so you can enjoy twinkling lights as well as learn about the alpacas! Browse the gift shop where you’ll find alpaca apparel made in Peru (where alpacas originate), unique handmade items by local artists, and everything alpaca related! Please book your appointment at https://lavender-hill-farm.square.site Group size is limited to twelve people. If the time you’d like to come is taken you may call (860)917-5154 to see if we can fit you in. Please wear a face covering. If you’re only looking to shop, you don’t need to make an appointment.
Saturday, December 18th
- Durham Winter Market – Holiday Market from 10am – 1pm. This is the last market before the 2 week holiday break. The market will be back January 8th, so stock up and mark you calendars. When you shop local, you are helping small business!
- Christmas at Gillette Castle from 12-1pm. The Castle will be open for self-paced tours from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m on Saturday and Sunday every weekend through December 19th. Each day’s final tour starts at 4 p.m. Entertainment by Erin Vivero, flute on Saturday, December 18th at 12:00pm – 1:00pm only!

Sunday, December 19th
- Reindeer Snuggles Playdate at Lyman Orchards from 10am-2pm. Come relax and enjoy snuggles, spread some cheer, and make great holiday memories! Dress up your reindeer in their holiday costume, give them a brush, and take selfies! Our 15 minute sessions include goat treats for each participant.
- Christmas at Gillette Castle from 12-1pm. The Castle will be open for self-paced tours from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m on Saturday and Sunday every weekend through December 19th. Each day’s final tour starts at 4 p.m.
- Christmas Caroling at the First Congregational Church in Madison at 5:30pm. Candles, songbooks and hot chocolate will be provided as you join the gathering outside, in front of the church, to sing our favorite Christmas Carols.
