Thursday is looking a little iffy in the weather department, but come Friday we’re cruising through the weekend with clear skies and beautiful temperatures. Check out this weekend’s line-up of fun to help plan your weekend!


Wednesday, August 26th

  • Leaf Jumpers are playing live at Main Street Park in Essex Village from 6:00-7:30pm compliments of the Essex Park and Rec department.
  • Wednesday night is all about Trivia Night at Moxie in Madison! Happening under the big tent at 7:30pm with registration beginning at 7:00pm. First come, first seated at this touchless event. Come on out for food & drink specials, prizes, and fun!

Thursday, August 27th

  • Durham Farmer’s Market takes place on the Town Green from 3:00-6:30pm. Check out their Facebook page for an up-to-date listing of vendors.
  • The Essex Board of Trade is hosting Alfresco Thursdays weekly throughout July and August. Visit numerous dockside and patio dining venues before visiting local retail shops that will be staying open until 8pm! Want to arrive via boat? Safe Harbor Essex Island is offering free hourly dockage from 4-9pm! Info on reserving your spot can be found on the event’s Facebook page.
  • Mark Mirando is playing at Shanks in Clinton from 2-5pm on the upper deck. Don’t forget that Shanks in BYOB!!!
  • Bonfire Acoustic is playing live for Happy Hour at Scotch Plains Tavern in Essex from 5-8pm.
  • Leaf Jumpers are playing live at Jacob’s Beach in Guilford beginning at 6:30pm.

Friday, August 28th

  • The Madison Farmer’s Market is taking place on the Town Green from 3-6pm. Traditional retail is now allowed and select vendors continue to offer pre-order. Head to the market webpage to see this week’s list of vendors.
  • Adult Corn Maze at Rose Vineyards and Winery in North Branford…yes please! Contact the winery during regular business hours to reserve your spot anytime from 4-8pm. Advanced reservations are required. Limited tickets available. Multiple dates are planned, so be sure you specify the date you would like to participate when you sign up. (475) 221-8636
  • Bruschetta Trio Board Zoom Workshop hosted by Madison based Gather Intentional Living. Event run from 8-10pm. Be sure to register in advance so that you can shop for supplies or opt for ingredient list delivery if you live within 20 miles of Madison, CT.

Saturday, August 29th

  • The Dudley Farm Market in Guilford is open every Saturday from 9am-12:30pm. Follow along on Facebook for update on vendors.
  • Life Full Yoga in Madison is hosting 2 sessions of outdoor yoga. 8:30-9:00 Sun Salutations and 9:15-10:15 Gentle Yoga.. Come for one or both of these donation classes.

  • Independent Bookstore Day in a nationwide event that you can celebrate locally at RJ Julia’s in Madison. Shop in store or online and be entered into a gift card raffle. Virtual author events are scheduled throughout the day, so be sure to check the website for full details!
  • Sunset Paddle Craft Brew Sampling Tour with Black Hall Outfitters in Old Lyme. This is a first-come, first-served event from 6-9pm. Join in the fun of paddling to Black Hall Outfitters private island and sampling a few brews from Mystic’s Barley Head Brewery.

Sunday, August 30th

  • The Chester Sunday Market is running from 10am-2pm and they’ve officially made the return to Main St.!
  • Enjoy Brunch By the Beach hosted by the Madison Beach Hotel from 10am-2pm. Check out the new plated menu here!
  • Madison Beach & Rec welcomes you to the Summer Concert Series with free weekly music performances being held on the Town Green from 6-8pm. LA’s Backstage Pass will be bringing all that is 80’s glam rock!
