Do you see what I see?!? The list of social events is growing longer each week! Slowly, but surely we’re making our way out of our homes and back into our communities. Local businesses have really stepped up to the plate and found creative solutions for keeping our communities safe and open. The weekend forecast is looking top notch for spending your time outside and there’s plenty of live music to choose from!
Wednesday, June 3rd
- Crazy Hair Themed Trivia Night for kids ages 8-18 hosted by the Madison Arts Barn. This virtual event takes places via ZOOM from 7-8pm. Register by 6pm to receive your ZOOM invitation.
Thursday, June 4th
- Durham Farmer’s Market takes place on the Town Green from 3-6:30pm.
- The Just the Two of Us Duo will be playing live on the upper deck at Shank’s in Clinton from 6-8pm. As always, BYOB.
- Zoo Trivia Night hosted by the Beardsley Zoo. This virtual event runs from 7-8pm and is a fundraiser for the zoo. Cost is $25/family.
- Facebook Live on Childcare and Camps hosted by State Senator Christine Cohen beginning at 7pm. Senator Cohen will be joined by Commissioner Beth Bye of the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood and Rep. Robin Comey, Director of the Branford Early Childhood Collaborative to answer all questions regarding how to navigate these services during COVID-19.
Friday, June 5th
- The Madison Farmer’s Market returns to the Town Green this week and runs from 3-6pm.
- Drive-in Movie Night at Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ in New Haven. This is a deal! For $60 you’ll get a reserved ticket to park and watch the Dark Night while enjoying 4 chicken sliders, 4 pork sliders, moinkballs, popcorn & movie candy! The show will begin around 8:15pm, but you’ll want to arrive early to allow time for parking. Rain date is scheduled for June 6th. Purchase your ticket here.
- Hot House is playing live at Donahue’s Beach Grille in Madison from 9:30pm-12:30am. Bring your dancing shoes!
Saturday, June 6th
- Dave Lefkin is playing live at the James Madison House in Madison from 4-7pm. Join the fun on their new patio!
- Enchanted Mini Safari at Ray of Light Farm in East Haddam from 11am-2pm. Come with the family to enjoy this drive-thru event and see all the wonderful, whimsical sculptures, hand painted totem poles, Unicorns and some of the farm animals! Tickets must be purchased in advance.
- Barre to Beach hosted by New England Dance from 8-9am at Harvey’s Beach in Old Saybrook. Bring a mat, towel, and weights to this barre workout and “embrace the shake!”
Sunday, June 7th
- Virtual Movie Discussion hosted by the E.C. Scranton Memorial Library from 3-4pm. This fun new event is available to those with a library card. Each week a new movie to watch is announced and members will be able to access the movie for free through the library’s Kanopy site. Think movie club in lieu of book club!

From now through Labor Day your Monday nights just got a lot more fun! 50 cent wings with purchase of a regular menu item or 75 cents wings without additional purchase. BYOB is the name of the game at Shanks, so don’t forget your cooler!
